In 1998, the CCRU carried out an independent review of all Anglian Shoreline Management Plan (SMP) 'Further Study Recommendations' for the Environment Agency, Anglian Region, UK. This review included the identification of gaps of current knowledge on both sediment transport pathways and geomorphological change on the East Anglian coast. The review and assessment included consideration of both coastal processes and shoreline change issues common to all Anglian SMPs and SMP specific coastal processes and geomorphological change. The project included extensive discussions and consultation with the Agency and resulted in a 'Prioritised Action Plan' for further study in the Anglian Region. Results were presented at a meeting of ACAG (Anglian Coastal Authorities Group).
